Description

The Raffaldini family motto, “Audentes Fortuna Iuvat” means, “Fortune favors he who dares.” This Latin phrase originates from the Aeneid, Virgil’s most famous work. Born in 70 BC during the reign of Julius Caesar, Virgil is best known as the author of this epic poem that links the birth of Rome to the Trojan War.

The fusion of family, food and wine is an integral part of our daily life. For more than six hundred and fifty years, the Raffaldini family has witnessed many historic events and has often marked such occasions with special family dinners and homemade Italian wine.

The Raffaldini family made a decision to share our centuries-old winemaking experience with the New World. After a long and exhaustive search for land that would reflect this experience, Raffaldini Vineyards was established in the Swan Creek area of the Yadkin Valley. From this vineyard, we handcraft our Italian wines; wines that express not only their “sense of place”, but also utilize winemaking skills that have been refined throughout the ages.

Tasting Room Hours and Wine Tours
Raffaldini Vineyards is open Wednesday thru Saturday, 11am–5pm; Sunday 1pm–5pm; Monday, 11am–5pm. We also accept advance appointments on Tuesday. We are open during holidays except for New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Check our event calendar for a full list of openings and special events.

For large groups (10 or more) reservations are recommended. Please call 336.835.9463 or email us to reserve a time for a tasting and tour.

Wine Tastings
Wine tastings are $5 per person (plus tax) and include a taste of each of our wines that are currently available for purchase along with a commemorative glass. Upon arrival at Villa Raffaldini, you will be directed to the next available tasting station. You may pay for your tasting along with your other purchases after the wine tasting. In order to comply with federal and local laws, please bring a photo ID showing verification of age.

Purchasing our Wines
Our wines are available exclusively at Villa Raffaldini and on our web site. Click the Order Our Wines page to see a complete list of our wines.

Vineyard Tours
Walking tours of the vineyard are held Wednesday through Sunday at 1pm and 4pm. Price for tours is $5 a person, to be paid in advance. Tours are guided by a staff expert around the vineyard as you discuss the Raffaldini family history and learn about the viticulture and wine making techniques that make our wines unique.

Food
We offer a great selection of a la carte Italian foods or ready-to-go boxed lunches that must be pre-ordered 72 hours in advance of your trip. We are happy to accommodate larger groups with customizable food options. Please visit our food page or email us for more information.

Picnics are welcome at our designated picnic areas; however, outside picnics and coolers are not permitted at the Villa. Only alcohol purchased at Raffaldini may be consumed on the premises.

Italian Festival
We celebrate the Italian festival every year, usually on the third Saturday in September. The Italian festival draws Italians and lovers of Italy from all over the country, and is a chance to enjoy the food, art, music, culture and, of course, wine of Italy.

Quarterly Wine Tasting Dinners
The Four Seasons Wine Tasting Dinners are held Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, pairing four seasonal courses with four specially-chosen wines to complement the food. Culinary and wine descriptions are given during the evening to enhance your enjoyment. This is an opportunity to share your food and wine passion with like-minded friends. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual with a focus on meeting new friends and enjoying la dolce vita.

Swan Creek AVA
Approved in May 2008, the Swan Creek AVA is North Carolina’s 2nd American Viticultural Area. The Swan Creek AVA encompasses 160-180 sq. miles in Wilkes, Yadkin and Iredell counties. Its proximity to the Brushy Mountains gives Swan Creek a distinct, loamy soil consisting of schist, mica and other minerals and lower than average rainfall and temperature levels making Swan Creek wines unique. There are five vineyards located within the Swan Creek AVA.
